This measures an omega-3 index and omega-3 score to assess for heart disease risk and a marker for inflammation.  Low Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) have been associated with increased risks of rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, depression, early dementia, asthma, ADD/ADHD, certain cancers, vision changes, sin conditions and poor neurological development in infants.  If you are already taking an omega supplement, this test can show you how well your band and dose may be working for you.
