Cortisol should change over a 12-24 hour time frame and we should create a “cortisol curve” whereby our cortisol is higher in the morning and then goes down as the day goes on. his test measures cortisol at 4 different times in the day to check for the cortisol curve. Everyone experiences stress at times, but how well we cope with stress depends a lot on our adrenal gland function. Our modern-day stresses tend to be less dramatic, but of longer duration. This means that cortisol levels may stay mildly elevated, resulting in symptoms like feeling tired but wired, difficulty sleeping, and anxiety. Excess cortisol also interferes with the action of other hormones (progesterone, testosterone and thyroid), creating more hormone imbalance and more symptoms. With continued stress, the adrenal glands may become depleted from producing too much cortisol or may reduce cortisol production significantly in response to the detrimental effects of high cortisol. Symptoms of low cortisol may include fatigue (particularly morning fatigue), increased susceptibility to infection, decreased recovery from exercise, allergies, low blood sugar, burned out feeling, depression and low sex drive. This test sample is provided at home and then put into any local mailbox using the pre-paid mailer package.

    Includes 3 day samples

This is a 3 day stool collection test that screens for parasites, yeast, good bacteria, bad bacteria and if abnormal species are found for negative bacteria or yeast, the results may also show potential plant or prescription treatment options best suited to eradicate your microbe(s). This test is a more cost effective combination of the Parasitology X3 test and the Microbiology Profile test.

This test includes an evaluation of our “hormone triangle” including: sex hormones, thyroid, and adrenal glands. This is a great test for patients looking to do bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, for peri-menopause or symptomatic menopausal patients, to assess hormone function for suspicious symptoms or to establish a healthy baseline prior to the onset of changes. Specifically, it measures estrogen in the forms of estrone, estradiol, estriol, and estrogen metabolites that help give information about bone health, cancer connections, and detoxification/methylation in the liver. It also includes progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, cortisone, pregnenolone, adrenal function metabolites, aldosterone, sodium, potassium, urinary T3 and T4 for thyroid function, and 5-alpha-reductase pathway enzymes as indicators for metabolic syndrome, Type 2 diabetes risk and more. This is a 24 hour urinary collection that you do at home and then the samples need to be couriered to the lab.

This test is a first morning saliva test that measures the sex hormones (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA), and cortisol. Women of any age can be affected by hormone issues and may experience: uanormal menstrual cycles, infertility, premenstrual syndrome, mood swings, anxiety, painful periods, debilitating sleep disturbances, night sweats, hot flashes, accelerated bone loss and many other symptoms related to hormone changes. The Female Panel helps healthcare professionals sort out the specifics of the hormone imbalance. This test sample is provided at home and then put into any local mailbox using the pre-paid mailer package. This test is more cost effective and convenient, but it is limited regarding the amount of information we get about the hormones.

    Single day stool test

This stool test includes looking at levels of common good/benficial bacteria, and an assessment for bad/pathogenic/dysbiotic bacteria, Clostridium species, and a quick screen for the presence of yeast (ie.Candida species). People with an imbalance in their microbes may experience: irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease, arthritis, fatigue, headaches, seasonal allergies, skin reactions, increased food allergies, vaginal symptoms, urinary tract infections, and more.

A balance of beneficial microbes in our systems has been associated with many health benefits including: decreased microbial pathogens, prevention and treatment of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, prevention of travelers’ diarrhea, reduction of lactose intolerance symptoms, reduction in serum cholesterol levels, increased immune system, increased neurotransmitters, better hormone function and more.

A balanced gut ecology also results in the production of nutrients such as folic acid, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, pyridoxine, biotin and vitamin K. Exposure to daily toxins, chemicals, antibiotics, hormones such as the birth control pill, processed and sugary foods, and high stress are all predisposing factors for seeing an imbalance in our bacteria. A positive result for negative bacteria or yeast may also show potential plant or prescription treatment options best suited to eradicate your microbe(s).

This measures an omega-3 index and omega-3 score to assess for heart disease risk and a marker for inflammation.  Low Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) have been associated with increased risks of rheumatoid and osteo arthritis, depression, early dementia, asthma, ADD/ADHD, certain cancers, vision changes, sin conditions and poor neurological development in infants.  If you are already taking an omega supplement, this test can show you how well your band and dose may be working for you.

    Includes 3 day samples

This is a 3 day stool collection test to screen for parasites, ovo (parasite eggs), yeast and red blood cells. Parasites such as Blastocystis, Dientamoeba and yeast species tend to grow in pockets in the digestive system. This 3 day sample results in more accurate findings as it is not uncommon for a single day sample to have a negative result and and other day a positive result due to their life cycle, shedding and ability to adhere to the digestive wall.

Includes: TSH, T3 , T4, Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies

Thyroid hormones help regulate metabolism, energy, heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, and weight. When you have a low thyroid, you may experience: weight gain, fatigue, depression, cold body temperature, muscle aches and arthritis, poor concentration/brain fog, constipation, dry skin, lowered immune system and many more symptoms. If you have a high functioning thyroid, you may experience increased sweating, headaches, nausea, fatigue, weight loss, heart palpitations, fast pulse, anxiety, irritability. Some estimate as many as $2M Canadians suffer from thyroid disease – many are undiagnosed.
